Cedarcraft Gazebos are handcrafted from 100% Western Red and Inland Cedar, with the exception of the roof rafters which are constructed with fir for additional strength. Cedar offers offers numerous benefits for exterior construction:
It is an extremely stable wood and resists warping and cracking. Unlike redwood which is very brittle, cedar has a great deal of flexibility and lasts many years outside with minimal care
Cedar is naturally resistant to rotting and decay. Also, the aromatic resins in cedar repel insects while giving off that irresistible aroma people love.
Cedar’s interesting grain pattern takes stain beautifully.
Cedar is porous and lightweight. Its porosity acts as a natural insulator and helps keep the interior cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
We use only clear cedar for the wall panels; tight knot cedar for the floor kits, and tongue and groove ceiling panels. The knotty look of the floor and ceiling give the interior that unique “north woods” feel.
